Magan McGann- Director/ PK Teacher

Ms. Magan, who joined our staff in August of 2019, has been working with children many years from home care, to after school care to working as a personal care aide for special needs children. She graduated from Appomattox County and Miller Motte Technical College with a certificate in Massage Therapy. In her spare time, she loves camping, going the lake or beach and  spending time with her family and and being a dog mom to her lab, River Grace.

  Mary Lou Jenkins - PSII Lead Teacher/ Assistant Director

Alicia Roberts - PSI Lead Teacher

Ms. Mary Lou joined our staff as an assistant teacher in August of 2019 and also is now our new Assistant Director.  She has worked as a childcare provider for military families in the past here and overseas. She studied photography with the New York Institute of Photography. In her free time, as a mother of three she enjoys spending time with her family and three dogs. Her hobbies are baking, photography and family trips to the mountains and Williamsburg.

Ms. Alicia joined us at the beginning of January 2022 as our new PSI Lead Teacher.  She attended Danville Community College where she studied Early Childhood Education and Business Management . As a wife and mom she enjoys spending time with her family and visiting her brother in Florida. She is a member of North Fork Baptist Church where she enjoys singing in the choir and teaching VBS. In her free time reading, shopping and crafting.

 
Yvonne Boxley - S'Cool Zone Lead Teacher

Ms. Yvonne, who is from Clarksville, joined our staff in the fall of 2016 from the YMCA's Before and After School program. She holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Specialties from Piedmont Tech and has 30+ years experience working w/ children! In her free time, she enjoys her volunteer work with veterans,  traveling and Facebook! She loves children and working at the center.

  Amy Kurzawa - Assistant Teacher

Ms. Amy joined our staff as an Assistant Teacher. She moved here from New Jersey ten years ago. She recently graduated from SVCC with an Associate degree in General Education and is currently continuing to study education at Longwood University as she wants to teach kindergarten. In her free time, she likes to go the beach or hang out with family and friends. She loves animals and crafts. 

Peggy Whitfield - Assistant Teacher

Ms. Peggy has recently joined our staff as an Assistant Teacher. She is retired from retail sales after 21 years. She is head of the nursery at her home church and is excited to be working with our children. She enjoys doing puzzles, going to the beach and spending time with her grandchildren.

Grace Whitlow- Assistant Teacher

Grace joined us in February of 2022.  She attends Danville Community College and is majoring in Science, then hopes to transfer to JMU for her PHD. She one day plans be a Psychiatrist. Grace used to be a competitive Dancer and taught dance class to  2-5 year olds as she loves working with kids. Hiking and spending time her family is very important to her.

  Sherry Ferguson - Substitute Teacher

Ms. Sherry previously served as our PSI teacher. She is now one of Substitute teachers! She comes to us from Appomattox with a B.S. degree in Psychology and Christian Counseling from Liberty University and multiple years experience in children's ministry. In her spare time, she enjoys redecorating her home and enjoys hanging with her family.

  Linda Sammons - Substitute Teacher

Ms. Linda previously served as the Lead Teacher with the two-year-old class but has decided to retire from full-time teaching. We're thrilled that she will be a substitute teacher for us! Originally from New York, she has 30+ years experience as a Kindergarten and Preschool teacher. She enjoys traveling in her spare time.
