Georgene Glasscock - Director
Ms. Georgene has been serving as the center's director since 2013. She holds a B.S.Ed. in Communication Disorders from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Virginia. She has 30+ years teaching experience in the public schools. She enjoys traveling, singing and directing theater shows in her spare time.
Linda Sammons - PSI Lead Teacher
Ms. Linda served last year as an Assistant Teacher and has recently been promoted to the Lead position with the two-year-old class. Originally from New York, she has 29 years experience as a Kindergarten and Preschool teacher. She enjoys traveling in her spare time.
Rita Moore - Assistant Teacher
Ms. Rita joined our staff in January, 2020 as an assistant teacher. A native of Clarksville, she holds an Administrator's license for Assisted Living and Medication Aid. She is making a huge switch as she has spent the past five years working with the elderly. She enjoys crafting and spending time with he grandchildren in her spare time.
Marissa Cosner - PSII Lead Teacher
Ms. Marissa has been serving as an Assistant Teacher since June, 2017 and has recently been promoted to Lead Teacher of the three-year-olds. She is currently enrolled in SVCC and DCC, majoring in Early Childhood Education. In her free time, she enjoys her dog, Babe and hanging out with family and friends.
Magan Mayberry - PK Lead Teacher
Ms. Magan, who joined our staff in August, has been working with children many years from home care, to after school care to working with public partnerships by being a personal care aide for special needs children. She graduated from Appomattox County and Miller Motte Technical College with a certificate in Massage Therapy. In her spare time, she loves camping, spending time with her family and and being a dog mom to her lab, River Grace.
Danielle Winn - Assistant Teacher
Ms. Danielle joined our staff as an assistant teacher in March, 2017. She recently graduated from high school, and is taking college courses at SVCC. In her spare time, she enjoys horse, playing piano, theater and art.
Mary Lou Jenkins - Assistant Teacher
Ms. Mary Lou joined our staff as an assistant teacher in August. She has worked as a childcare provider for military families for the last eight years. She is currently working to pursue a degree in school counseling through online classes. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, baking and photography.
Amy Kurzawa - Assistant Teacher
Ms. Amy joined our staff as an Assistant Teacher. She moved here from New Jersey eight years ago. She recently graduated from SVCC with an Associates in General Education. She is transferring to Longwood to study education as she wants to teach kindergarten. In her free time, she likes to go the beach or hang out with family, her fiance and friends. She loves animals and crafts.
Hikiera Franklin - Assistant Teacher
Ms. Hikiera joined our staff as an Assistant Teacher 2 year ago. She recently graduated with an Associate's degree from SVCC, and is currently finishing her studies at Virginia State University, majoring in Criminal Justice. She loves being here on her school hiatus and working with our BAS children.
Zachary Glasscock - Lead Teacher
Mr. Zachary is like the staff member who cannot stay away!! He began working as an assistant teacher in 2009, left and returned several times! He holds an Associate's degree in Education and a B.S. in Theatre. He is back for the year to manage our S'Cool Zone program. In his spare time, Mr. Zachary enjoys directing shows, acting and playing games of all kinds.
Yvonne Boxley - Assistant Teacher
Ms. Yvonne joined our staff in the fall of 2016 from the YMCA's Before and After School program. She holds an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Specialties from Piedmont Community College and has 29 years experience working w/ children!
Melanie Miller - Assistant Teacher
Ms. Melanie joined our staff as an assistant teacher in August. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Granville Central High School as an early graduate. She is a dog mom to her two-year-old Chihuahua named Max. She has three younger siblings and is currently working and saving up to go to college.
Caedmon Russell-Substitute Teacher
Mr. Caedmon began working as an assistant teacher on August 1st. He is a homeschooled junior, who is enrolled in an IT Fundamentals class through SVCC, along with his regular studies. He is a certified Red Cross babysitter. In his spare time, Mr. Caedmon enjoys reading, writing and playing games of all kinds.
